About Aliso Laguna

Neighborhood Overview

Aliso Laguna sits adjacent to the Aliso Creek drainage in South Laguna Beach, in a location where the natural landscape is the defining feature. The proximity to Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park — 4,500 acres of protected open space with over 30 miles of trails — gives the neighborhood an outdoor recreational richness that attracts hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians. The Aliso Creek mouth at Aliso Beach is one of the few natural coastal creek outlets remaining in Orange County.

Aliso Beach — a wide, sandy South Laguna beach with excellent surfing, volleyball, and family amenities — is within a genuine 10–15 minute walk from most Aliso Laguna properties. Prices range from $1 million for smaller or older homes to $3.8 million for larger properties with views or significant updates. The creek mouth creates a wetland zone that attracts great blue herons, snowy egrets, and osprey as year-round presences, and serves as a critical stopover for migratory birds.

Aliso Laguna Insider Facts

Aliso Creek, which flows through the landscape adjacent to Aliso Laguna and exits at Aliso Beach, was historically one of the most important steelhead trout streams in Orange County — steelhead migrated up the creek from the Pacific to spawn in the upper watershed. While industrial and residential development eliminated the fishery, ongoing watershed restoration efforts by the County and environmental groups aim to eventually restore some level of fish passage to the creek system.
